This article was a profile that morphed into a restaurant review at the end of the piece. The Lemon Squeeze in New Paltz (a tremendous restaurant) is owned by a fascinating couple, Gina O’Brien and Ed Carroll, a screenwriter and a former AMC executive. You may have heard of some the shows Ed Carroll commissioned!

“Carroll knew the “Mad Men” writing was fantastic, and he wanted to do something “different than everyone else,” he said. So he greenlighted the show, and the rest is TV history. “Mad Men” won 16 Emmys, five Golden Globes, and set AMC on a roll in the era of prestige TV.
